MPB Training Programs
The training programs of the Merit Protection Boards focus on merit based selection. They also cover a wide range of personnel decision making. A merit protection trained person is required on all selection panels and in many other situations where personnel decisions are made.
If you are interested in attending one of these programs please contact your region. There are no more training programs scheduled for 2009.

Principals / Teachers / Education Support Class

- Principals who have been accredited may be called on to assist on principal selection panels.
- Teachers who have been accredited are available to assist principals with personnel management decision-making where panels include a merit protection accredited teacher. These panels are for teacher selection, higher duties, special payments, employment annulment after satisfactory probation, extension of probation period, deferral of increment and non-endorsement of teaching practice for leading teacher accreditation.
- Accredited Education Support staff are available to assist principals in decision-making concerning selection, higher duties, special payments, and deferral of increments.

Public servants
MPB training materials for Victorian public servants
Accredited public servants are available to assist in decision-making in the principles of merit and equity for manager and staff in the public service. This training supports the implementation of the VPS staffing guidelines.
